Presentations
Today in class we did our presentations. There were three separate groups each with a different topic. The groups were Native Americans, Vikings, and Columbus. The first group to present was the Native Americans group. Native Americans arrived in America about 12,000 to 17,000 years ago. They traveled here by the Ice Bridge. They migrated all the way through Europe and Asia across the ocean into the Americas. The Ice Bridge was a path made out of ice, formed during the Ice Age, that stretched from Russia to Alaska. The Native Americans traveled all this way following a herd of mammoths that they were hunting. Native Americans were the first to arrive in the Americas as far as history can tell us. They had to fight to survive. They were known as hunters and gatherers, so they hunted and gathered their food to stay alive. The grew crops and set up their own small village. They didn't just come to America to conquer more land, they came for the resources. America had better opportunities for crops and more land. The Native Americans stayed and some are still here today.
